Celebrating 23 Years: Our Magical Anniversary in St. Maarten

There’s something truly enchanting about celebrating love in paradise. Our recent trip to St. Maarten marked a beautiful milestone—our 23th wedding anniversary. From the moment we touched down, the island embraced us with its warm breezes and vibrant spirit, setting the scene for an unforgettable celebration.

Day 1: Arrival in Philipsburg

Arriving in Philipsburg, the capital of this delightful Dutch isle, we were swept up by the kaleidoscope of colors and sounds welcoming us. Our celebration began with a leisurely breakfast at a charming seaside café nestled along the lively boardwalk. The delicious pastries and aromatic island coffee set a perfect tone for our day of adventure.

Island Beauty and Thrills

With the crystal-clear waters calling our names, snorkeling at the renowned Maho Beach was a highlight of our journey. I dove beneath the turquoise surface and was greeted by a spectacular world of vibrant marine life and coral gardens. Meanwhile, my husband found endless excitement in the unique thrill of airplanes swooping low over the beach—an awe-inspiring spectacle.

Exploring Marigot’s Charm

Our adventure led us to Marigot, the other side of the island where French flair beautifully mingles with Caribbean charm. Strolling through the bustling markets, we indulged in local delicacies, finding a special spot in our hearts for the Johnny Cakes and tangy Tamarind balls. These tastes, like our memories, lingered sweetly.

A Romantic Sunset Dinner

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in golden and pink hues, we enjoyed a romantic dinner at a fabulous island restaurant to honor our 20 years together. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece that blended vibrant local ingredients with the finesse of French Caribbean cuisine—a perfect toast to our journey together.
